Anatomy of a Fae

Age: One hundred and nineteen years old in a Juneish sort of area.
Species: Siren (Water Faerie)
Personality: Loud and proud and never in control, he doesn't even pretend he has a reign on things. He doesn't and that's okay. Kani is a creature of wild emotions and faerie logic, which is never good for a creature like a siren to be. Practically commanded by his nature and his ever fluctuating emotions, the siren is unpredictable if met by people who aren't well versed in the natures of the Fair Folk. The smallest thing could send the creature reeling into rage or flying into nirvana, and it would be just as easy to snap him back if the correct measures were taken. Passionate and shifting like the sea he calls home, Kani is an explosion of pure feeling and raw imagination.
As was stated before, his moods are mercurial and tend to change wildly given the current situation and what is going on. Though it can be easy to soothe battered pride with something as simple as a compliment, sometimes it takes right out gifts and promises to mend the faerie's ego. He rarely has any measure of real control over how he feels and reacts, simply following exactly what his heart tells him to do and acting on that. Of course, this tends to get him in a great deal of trouble a lot, and he's learned to adopt a fight over flight response when in dangerous situations. He certainly is capable of running away given any kind of fight, but he's less inclined to, especially when he feels as if he's been wronged and has a point he has to prove. He's sung people into stupors over slights and insults, though everything considered, he's much better at handling himself than he was fifty years ago. His tantrums are things to behold, and he's backed up sewers and ruined an entire blocks plumbing because he was almost mugged in their vicinity.
Kani is a creature who thrives off of attention, even if it is negative attention. He will happily piss someone off in order to get his fix, though he's more inclined to want to entertain above anything else. The sound of applause and cheering tends to get him going, and having an audience makes everything twice as sweet. He'll do almost anything in front of an audience to appeal to them, and certainly isn't above doing some pretty embarrassing things in order to achieve what he thinks is the prize. If he has to dance around in his birthday suit, so be it! He only wears clothes because of societal pressure anyway.
On top of everything, he is a creature of romance. Kani has slept with dozens of women, if not hundreds, with one or two men occasionally thrown in there. If they're special enough. But Kani falls desperately in love at least once a week, a few times a month, more than a dozen times in a single year. It doesn't occur to him that he should have but one love of his life, why not have three or four? Or ten! He's willing to share himself with that many people, and he certainly wouldn't be upset if they did the same for him. He doesn't quite understand fidelity. Just a creature who lives in the now and present who acts on his feelings as they come. As a result, he has an interesting past with women, and is generally used to getting slapped if not punched by an offended paramour who didn't enjoy the fact that he took a third woman into bed this week. It doesn't matter how many times he gets socked though, he'll still respond to his feelings and do exactly as they say.
But no matter how much he claims to love and adore a person, if they're anything outside the realm of the fae, he will never be fully honest with them. Though Kani is incapable of outright lying, he is still very, very dishonest. Most people who spend time with him just think of him as an eccentric human, not as a faerie. People have shared his bed and never even knew his real name. Kani certainly isn't his True Name, only a few people know that and they're all family to him. He prefers to play human, and pretend he doesn't know what people are talking about when it comes to some oddities that don't go away. Such as sleeping in the bathroom with the door locked or vanishing for hours at a time and coming back with no recollection of how much time has actually passed. Simply written off as eccentricities. He does use his magic on audiences, but not as often as one would think, and generally tends to keep his magical side to himself when he's in public.
On top of being dishonest, he likes mind games and teasing people. Puckish to a T. He gets a huge kick out of pushing buttons and seeing how far he can press people, and seeing how intelligent the person he's talking to really is. He'll throw out odd little riddles, talk cryptically, and wander around subjects if the right question isn't asked. He enjoys what will he does have and uses it as often as possible, refusing to be straight forward with anyone if he doesn't have to be. He can be blunt, and generally will be if it amuses him, but usually he likes to beat around the bush and dodge subjects, redirecting people and seeing if they remember the way back to the original subject. He can talk for hours and not reveal a single thing about himself, other than the fact that he's an annoying dick.
That isn't to say he doesn't have his charms though, and Kani can be very charming. He loves what he does, and what he does is entertain people. He loves smiles and approval, laughter and joy, and loves to feed into that as much as possible. He's the kind of person to drop everything he's doing in order to play a fun game or spend some time with someone he likes, never taking his job too seriously to handle. He's friendly and outgoing, usually starting conversations with the first person he runs into, even chatting people up on stage as he's doing his show and incorporating them into the act. He has a huge network of acquaintances that he can call on, though his circle of real friends is small at best. He's loyal to those he considers friends and family, and will do almost anything for them, ready to sacrifice nearly anything for them.
He is extremely skilled in all things musical, from instruments to singing. He can almost perfectly copy any singer, and can teach himself how to play most string instruments on his own. Just string and keys though, he seems to have an issue with everything else, and the last time someone handed him a drum he turned it upside down and tried to use it as a water dish. He has an affinity for the strange instruments, and will usually try anything at least once to see if he likes it. Because why not? He has all the time in the world to get to know these things.
Kani is a whimsical, wild creature who takes chances and isn't afraid to fail every now and again. He's still set in his ways, like a river bed flowing for years, but is capable of change. He's already changed a great deal from when he first came to be on an island out in the ocean, and he still has a lot of growing to do. Excited about life and what it may bring, he looks into the future and dances through the present, with an eye for adventure and the will to meet all comers.

Sirens Song: Enslavement spell. Works better on people who are either weak willed or who underestimate the power behind the spell. The stronger willed someone is, the harder they are to enslave, though battling for control with a siren is difficult. The music is subversive, sounding pleasant and easy to listen to at first. A clever person could hash out that it was sapping their will, but anyone less than brilliant might find it hard to wrench themselves free of the musics grasp.
Mood Altering Songs: Kani can sing pieces that change the mood of the listener. His particular fortes are:

Anger
Sadness
Joy
With a few notes he could send someone either swinging or sobbing, but usually it depends on the siren's own mood to what songs he may use. He never uses his love song, mostly out of despite for it. He figures himself to good to have to sing a person into loving him, and won't use it for someone elses benefit either because they should be better than that too. It takes the fun out of everything!
Water Magic: Kani can control water. Really, it's as easy as that. He can create a vicious undertow to suck people down, whirlpools, surging waves or glassy waters. He can form spheres of water and either hurl them or drink them, though his powers stop at commanding the temperature of the water. If water is too cold to swim in, it's too damn cold to swim in, he'll move somewhere else.
